Human Resources Generalist

Our Client, a retail group in Toronto, is urgently hiring a Human Resources Generalist to provide flexible, responsive and proactive Human Resources expertise, deliver excellent Human Resources administrative support with strong organization, planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with creating agendas, distributing meeting minutes, and organizing HR events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of HR event logistics, including communication with vendors, facilitators, and participants.
  • Provide daily operational support, including arranging team and individual meetings.
  • Update and maintain computer systems, manage data entry, and distribute relevant documents.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including setting up log-ins, workstations, and email accounts.
  • Effectively manage the onboarding and induction of new hires.
  • Maintain records related to employee grievances, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support recruitment efforts by coordinating interviews as needed.
  • Assist in Talent Analytics projects, collaborating with the HR Manager on data analysis tasks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years' progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • At least 3-4 years of Talent Acquisition experience.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and US labor laws.
  • Experience processing US and Canadian payroll, ideally with ADP or Ceridian.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, with BambooHR experience preferred.
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities with a hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Proven strategic thinking, planning, and execution abilities.
  • Creative, energetic, and positive problem-solver.
  • Unionized work environment experience is preferred but not required.
