Agriculture Sales Specialist 

Our Client, an award-winning industry leader within the agriculture sector, centrally located between Sarnia and Windsor, providing a full line up of innovative, cost effective, high performance based ag products and solutions, supported by expert sales, design, and installation services, with a custom fabrication shop and fully stocked warehouse, is looking to hire an Agriculture Sales Specialist for their precision agriculture division, which offers advanced technologies, agronomic support, and equipment installation, retrofits and service, while focusing on growing a better yielding crop to achieve full crop efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $50,000 to $60,000 per year, dependent on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively consult with both new and existing clients, offering tailored recommendations that provide significant value and address their specific needs, helping them achieve better outcomes.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining a reputation as a trusted advisor within the agricultural industry, building strong and long-lasting relationships with clients.
  • Accurately and efficiently prepare quotes, contracts, invoices, and other essential documentation, ensuring paperwork is completed promptly to facilitate smooth transactions and client satisfaction.
  • Assist with the successful setup and start of new equipment, perform routine health checks, and troubleshoot any issues to ensure optimal product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and pursue business opportunities with both new and existing clients, showing a strong sense of initiative.
  • Provide hands-on, in-field support to existing clients, particularly during high-demand agricultural periods such as planting season, ensuring that equipment and products are functioning as expected.
  • Stay up to date on all products and services by participating in regular training programs, continually expanding knowledge to provide clients with the most relevant and current solutions.
  • Actively participate in promotional activities and client education events, such as trade shows, presentations, product training sessions, and equipment demonstrations, to enhance brand visibility and client engagement.
  • Actively collaborate with team members to contribute to client success, providing support, insights, and cooperative effort to ensure client goals are achieved and satisfaction is maintained.
  • Complete all administrative tasks, reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner throughout the workday, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is up-to-date and readily available.
  • Offer hands-on support with the assembly and installation of equipment during service calls, helping ensure that installations are carried out smoothly and to the highest standard, leading to successful outcomes for clients.
  • Demonstrate reliability by consistently arriving punctually and being fully prepared for all scheduled meetings. This level of professionalism helps maintain a productive and organized workflow, ensuring that all commitments are met without delay.
  • Adapt swiftly and efficiently to changing workplace conditions, roles, and responsibilities. This flexibility ensures that business operations remain seamless, even when unexpected challenges arise or when processes evolve.
  • Always exhibit a positive and professional demeanor, effectively representing the company with integrity and pride.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in sales or roles related to agriculture is preferred, showcasing a solid foundation in customer interaction and industry knowledge that contributes to effective relationship building and sales strategies.
  • A strong understanding of agronomic principles is advantageous, enabling the candidate to provide informed recommendations and support to clients, ultimately leading to better crop management and agricultural practices.
  • Familiarity with the operation, service, and repair of farm equipment is a plus, as this knowledge enhances the candidate's ability to engage with clients on technical issues, offer valuable insights, and address equipment-related concerns effectively.
  • Knowledge of precision agriculture technology and equipment is considered an asset, allowing the candidate to leverage advanced tools and techniques that improve productivity, efficiency, and data management for clients.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to execute tasks efficiently, even under pressure, are essential traits that ensure deadlines are met, priorities are handled appropriately, and client needs are addressed promptly, contributing to overall team success.
  • Strong proficiency in computer usage, including navigating various industry-specific software programs, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and effective use of digital tools for project management, scheduling, and communication.
  • Possesses a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license, with a clean driver’s abstract, and can freely travel to the United States.
