Speaker Profiles

Derek McKay, BBS, Chartered MCIPD, is the Managing Director of Adare Human Resource Management and is an experienced Senior Human Resource and Employment Law practitioner who has worked extensively in the private, public and not for profit sectors. Prior to setting up Adare Human Resource Management in 2003, Derek worked in the Human Resource Departments in a number of multinational organisations.

Derek’s role involves overseeing the Employment Law support services and HR Management Consultancy services provided to clients across a wide range of sectors by the team of consultants within Adare Human Resource Management as well as delivering upon large scale HR change projects. Derek has worked with businesses such as Standard Life Assurance, Electrolux, Servier Pharmaceuticals, Sherry Fitzgerald, UCB Manufacturing and Canada Life to name but a few. Derek regularly speaks at seminars throughout the country on HR and Employment related topics and contributes to numerous publications in this area also.

John Treacy, BBLS is the Managing Director with Treacy Consulting and works in partnership with Adare Human Resource Management and their clients providing specialist compensation and benefits advice. With over 20 years of consulting experience in the EU, North America and Japan, one of John’s key areas of specialism is Reward and Recognition aligned to business objectives.

John has worked with global client names such as GE, Vodafone, Capgemini, Heineken, DePuy/Johnson & Johnson, NEC Electronics, and well known Irish client names such as the HSE, Tunstall / Emergency Response, Group 4 Securicor, Tesco, IDA Ireland, NUIG and RT. Prior to setting up Treacy Consulting in 2004, John Treacy worked with two global management consulting firms, Willis Towers Watson and Sibson & Company/Segal.

As the Head of Policy for the Dublin Docklands Business Forum, John was appointed by the Minister for the Environment to the DDDA Council in May 2012, and to the Advisory Group of the new Docklands SDZ as well as being appointed to the Board of Rugby Players Ireland, formerly known as IRUPA/Irish Rugby Union Players Association.
