Senior Manager, Assurance & Advisory

Urgently recruiting for a leading midsize accounting firm located in Elora, specializing in value-added accounting, advisory, audit and tax services, providing high-quality personalized services across a broad range of industries seeking to hire a Senior Manager, Assurance & Advisory to join their growing team.

Benefits and compensation:

  • Compliance with requirement of Accounting Standards & Schedule III of the Companies Act, 2013.

  • Drafted Audit Reports as per the reporting requirements of Companies Audit Report Order,2016(CARO)

  • Prepared Audit Plans and ensured completion of the same within the timeline.

  • Inspected collateral security and foreign remittance verification.

  • Carried out Financial Reporting Review and analysis of client companies.

  • Prepared budgeting and forecasting reports for clients.

  • Analyzed of Debtors & Creditors – Ageing, Recovery Period and Balance Confirmation Procedures.

  • Verified vouching of crucial expenses and preparation and review of various reconciliation statements. E.g., BRS, stock and various other aspects.

  • Handled Corporate Taxation, Tax Audit and Filing of Tax returns of small, medium, and large organizations.

  • Represented before the Income Tax Department, Filing of Appeals before Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) and prepared the submissions.

  • Compliance of filing of Registrar of Companies Forms and Annual Filing of Accounts of Companies.

  • Tax Deducted Source (TDS) calculations and e-TDS returns – VAT Audit & Filing of VAT Returns.

  • Service Tax Computations, Return Filing and working on Cenvat Credit. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Partners to understand and anticipate client needs and present relevant services

  • Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments

  • Own a portfolio of clients and manage relationships at the strategic level, considering evolving client needs over the longer term and communicating regularly with client management on a variety of topics

  • Guide Managers and direct the team to fulfil client expectations and deliver on engagement objectives and timelines

  • Review engagement deliverables to ensure compliance with professional and firm standards

  • Manage scheduling of Managers and delegate work and decision-making authority successfully to ensure engagements have the right leadership and expertise available

  • Own the overall health of a wide range of client engagements by monitoring critical business metrics at the team and Manager level.

  • Prepare invoices in a timely manner.

  • Provide management and leadership to Managers on assurance and non-assurance engagements

  • Provide direction to teams on any obstacles or issues that are hindering progress and work with Partners to effectively manage and mitigate any associated risks to the firm

  • Actively manage performance by providing timely, open, and honest feedback and conducting quarterly and annual performance reviews

  • Champion change initiatives that are strategically important to the firm and lead practice and professional development initiatives to support the achievement of business goals.

  • Establish, facilitate, and train Managers on the firm’s processes, practices and use of relevant systems on client engagements.

  • Stay up to date on the latest accounting practices and seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

  • Drive collaboration, ideation, and positive relationships with other team members across the firm.

  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies and opportunities to drive consistent approaches across the firm.

  • Leverage business network to generate leads in target markets.

  • Identify and pursue new cross-functional sales opportunities, where appropriate

  • Take lead roles in various industry conferences to promote the firm’s expertise and services.

  • Identify and discuss emerging opportunities with clients based on knowledge of key industry drivers

Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience working in public practice accounting

  • CPA designation or equivalent work experience

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Interest in managing and developing others

  • Ability to prioritize and manage deliverables, adhering to time and budget constraints

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
