Snow Removal- Snow Shovel Crew Leader

Urgently recruiting 2 snow shovel crew leaders (Snow removal), to join a Toronto based landscape maintenance company, serving residential and commercial clients in the GTA. Locations include East York, the Beaches, Rosedale, Leaside, Davisville, Downtown, Lawrence Park, High Park, and the areas in between.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $27.00-$29.00 per hour (based on experience) + $150 Standby Pay/ week guaranteed24/7 for on call commitment
  • Accessible via transit

Responsibilities:

  • Manage 2-3 Shovers to Clear Snow
  • Available to work all shifts including early mornings and late evenings
  • Clear and maintain walkways and outdoor staircases
  • 24/7 on call commitment and availability as needed
  • Must be able to perform physical duties, must be able to offer professional and friendly service.
  • Lead by example and demonstration
  • Report any snow and ice control problems in the winter months
  • Operate hand tools and equipment including snow blowers
  • Follow all Health and Safety Regulations PPE
  • Other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Snow removal experience (one season)
  • Experience managing a 2-3 Shovelers to clear Snow
  • Valid G license or higher is preferred
  • Must frequently lift/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must qualify to be insured under company policy
  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions including cold temperatures for long periods of time
  • Available on a 24/7 basis as needed
  • Own PPE: Hearing protection (noise level in the work environment is moderate), eye protection, CSA (green tag) Safety boots
  • Comfortable wearing uniform – Uniform will be provided on the first day
  • Background check
  • Safety-first mindset, great communication skills and attention to detail

Hours:

  • Starting date: Employment contract will start November 29 hour if it snows before that you will be called in.
  • 24/7 on call commitment to respond to snowfalls
