Intermediate Accountant, Assurance & Advisory

Urgently recruiting for a leading midsize accounting firm located in Elora and Guelph, specializing in value-added accounting, advisory, audit and tax services, providing high-quality personalized services across a broad range of industries seeking to hire an Intermediate Accountant, Assurance & Advisory to join their growing team.

  • Prepare compilation and review engagements
  • Perform and assist on audits engagements
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns, and HST returns
  • Provide assistance and support to clients on accounting and bookkeeping issues
  • Proactively follow up with clients and build positive working relationships
  • Effectively respond to requests or queries, and keep the team apprised of any potential issues
  • Participate in practice and professional development initiatives
  • Working on special projects as required


  • 2+ years experience working in public practice accounting
  • 2+ years experience in assurance and advisory
  • Currently pursuing CPA designation or equivalent experience (Asset)
  • College or university qualification in accounting or equivalent prior experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office and using tax preparation software
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
