Snow removal- Sidewalk Tractor Operator (November start)

Urgently recruiting 10 Sidewalk Tractor Operators (Snow removal), to join a Toronto based landscape maintenance company, serving residential and commercial clients in the GTA. Seeking both experienced and individuals new to the industry who enjoy the outdoors and comfortable working in all weather/season including winter. Compensation and Benefits

  • $25 -$27 per hour (based on experience)
  • $150/week guaranteed24/7 for on call commitment
  • Seasonal Uber credit provided for transportation to a MMIA dispatch point

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 26hp horsepower tractor with a plow and salter on downtown route(s) assigned
  • 24/7 on call commitment and availability as needed to respond to snowfalls/ice events plus regular availability between snowstorms to do site inspections and to care for properties managed
  • Refill salt bins, cleaning, greasing
  • Other duties assigned

Requirements

  • 1 winter (removal) season experience
  • Comfortable working outside in cold temperatures for long periods of time
  • Available on a 24/7 basis as needed
  • Mandatory 2 days training in the last week of October prior to starting in November– 1st, tractor training and 2nd, virtual training via zoom
  • A valid G2 or higher license (Asset)
  • Mobile phone with at least 2GB of data per month (to use route application)
  • Comfortable bending, lifting up to 50lbs., utilizing hand tools, and working in various weather conditions
  • Own PPE: Hearing protection, eye protection, CSA (green tag) Safety boots
  • Comfortable wearing uniform – Uniform will be provided on the first day
  • Background check 
  • Safety-first mindset, great communication skills and attention to detail

Hours:

  • 24/7 on call commitment to respond to snowfalls and ice events plus regular availability between snowstorms to do site inspections
