Description:

Working with our Client, an award-winning company specializing in custom-design engineering  and manufacturing of mechanically-stitched textile based products, based in Scarborough,  Ontario, we are looking for Mechanic Assistants. The ideal Candidates will join a multi-cultural  organization and be a part of a team that is manufacturing medical gowns for the global crisis.

  •  Daily self-directed screening questionnaire and daily temperature screening
  •  All employees, contractors and visitors are required to wear masks
  •  Common surfaces sanitized regularly, with hand sanitizer and extra hand washing  stations available

Responsibilities: 

  •  Set up of equipment
  •  Development of new equipment and methods
  •  Preventative maintenance
  •  Work with Lead Hands and Sample Maker to optimize production methods
  •  Take necessary corrective action to prevent non-conforming product
  •  Notify the Production Manager when poor or inadequate equipment, materials or personnel  may cause or is causing non-conforming product to be made
  •  Ensure that non-conforming product is repaired when possible and cost effective to do so to  meet requirements
  •  Maintain parts and tools required to repair equipment 
  •  Be familiar with those portions of the quality system that apply to the position
  •  Maintain records
  • Recommend equipment and methods
  •  Special in-process inspection requirements are to be based on written instructions from the  Quality Manager
  •  Ensure all safety procedures and policies are followed

Qualifications: 

  •  Aptitude in working with tools and mechanics
  •  Ability to work with hands to repair small parts
  •  Inter-personal skills
  •  Read engineering drawings
  •  ISO knowledge
  •  Verbal and written English language skills
  •  Detail oriented
  • Computer operation skills
